Trump Hires Fox News Host For Key State Department Position

The vitriol from the left for President Trump and Fox News knows no bounds and after Trump’s latest move expect the voices in the liberal wilderness to scream bloody murder.

They hate that Fox News and Trump have a close bond and they really hate it when he hires people directly from the conservative network.

The fact is, Fox was the only network to get the Mueller report right, so the criticism is unfounded.

And Trump picks qualified people, in this case, a woman with a successful professional track record. They won’t tell you that about her when they rip Trump for picking someone from Fox, but she is as qualified as any Obama pick.

From Fox News: National security analyst Morgan Ortagus, a former diplomat and active U.S. Naval Reserve officer, will become the new State Department spokeswoman, Fox News has learned.

Sources familiar with the matter told Fox News last week that Ortagus had been offered the position and was being vetted for it. Officials also said she recently had been considered for an on-camera spokeswoman position at the Pentagon.

Ortagus was a Fox News contributor but stepped away from that role last week when her name was linked to the State Department position.

She is expected to replace Heather Nauert, a former Fox News anchor who was nominated in December to succeed Nikki Haley as ambassador to the United Nations, only to withdraw her name from consideration in February.

Ortagus entered government service as a public affairs officer at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), spending several months in Iraq in 2007.

She later became an analyst for the Treasury Department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, where she worked to identify and designate individual terrorists for placement on the United Nations Sanctions List.

In 2010, Ortagus was named Deputy U.S. Treasury Attache to Saudi Arabia. After leaving government service, Ortegus co-founded consulting firm Global Opportunity Advisors with Samantha Vinograd, another veteran of the public sector.
