Alan Dershowitz speaks truth to power and he loses friends over his comments on a daily basis.
Once the literal toast of the liberal elite towns, he has fallen from grace in the eyes of the left for an unpardonable sin of defending Trump.
The sad fact is the next time a Democrat president gets in trouble, they will go running to Alan to take advantage of his vast legal expertise.
In short, Alan is a wise man whose words should be given much weight. From Fox News:
Alan Dershowitz called out Rep. Rashida Tlaib for how the Michigan congresswoman defended her fellow freshman House colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar from backlash within their own party.
Omar (D-Minn.) has been under fire in recent weeks for a series of comments that many deemed anti-Semitic.
On “Fox & Friends” Monday, Dershowitz, a Harvard Law professor emeritus and a lifelong Democrat, said accusations of Islamophobia like this are “designed to stifle debate” and act as a “new justification for anti-Semitism.”
“You can’t call anybody out for making anti-Semitic statements, because if you do, you’re guilty of bigotry, you’re Islamophobic,” Dershowitz said.
Brian Kilmeade noted that Chelsea Clinton was confronted in New York City on Friday by a student who claimed that the former first daughter’s condemnation of Omar’s remarks “stoked” the hatred behind the massacre at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
“If you do identify anti-Semitic statements and condemn them — as everybody in the world should — you’re guilty of bigotry and Islamophobia,” Dershowitz said.
“You cannot do that anymore because if you do, you and Chelsea Clinton will be blamed for every anti-Muslim fanatic’s statement or act.”
“It’s designed to stifle debate. And everybody should recognize that.”
